How to measure

A waist belt is worn over your clothes. So the measurement that matters is taken over your clothes, not over your body.

  1. Put on the jacket, coat or dress you intend to wear the belt with.
  2. Place a soft tape where the belt will sit: at the base of the ribcage, just above the navel.
  3. Keep the tape level and comfortable, not tight. Read the number in centimetres.

Match that number against the table on this page. Between two sizes, take the longer one.

Over a coat, not under it. The belt is the outermost thing you wear.
On the natural waist: the narrowest point, above the hip bone. Lower reads as a low-slung jeans belt.
Let the tail hang. Tucking it back through the loop shortens the line.
