description

Width does the work.

A wide stretch band, wide enough to break the volume of a coat or an oversized knit instead of just marking where the waist is. It closes on a mirrored pair of cast leaves in a gold-tone finish, meeting at the front. One size, stretching from 65 to 85 cm.

Over a blazer, a trench, a boxy shirt. The layer stays exactly as it is. The waist stops being a guess.

size & fit

Measured over your clothes, not against the skin. Put on the layer you plan to wear it with.

The band is elastic and stretches, so one size covers a range.

How to measure

A waist belt is worn over your clothes. So the measurement that matters is taken over your clothes, not over your body.

natural waist
  1. Put on the jacket, coat or dress you intend to wear the belt with.
  2. Place a soft tape where the belt will sit: at the base of the ribcage, just above the navel.
  3. Keep the tape level and comfortable, not tight. Read the number in centimetres.

Match that number against the table on this page. Between two sizes, take the longer one.

how to wear it

Over a blazer, a trench or an oversized knit. This is the one built to break volume, not just mark the waist.
On the natural waist, over the layer, never under it.
The clasp sits centred at the front. It is the only detail there is.
Contrast with the garment. Gold on print disappears.

how to wear it

The rules are short.

Over the coat, not under it. On the narrowest point, not the hip. Let the tail hang. Contrast with the garment. Four lines, and everything already in the wardrobe changes shape.
